Joe Splain joined the NEC Group in November 2024 as Director of Programming, overseeing the event programming strategy for Utilita Arena Birmingham and bp pulse LIVE. With over 20 years of experience in live entertainment, Joe brings a wealth of industry knowledge and a strong track record of delivering diverse, high-impact shows to some of the UK’s busiest venues.

His career has included senior roles at Academy Music Group and London’s Oval Space and The Pickle Factory, where he led programming and business development across a wide range of genres and formats. Joe has worked with global artists including Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, and Armin van Buuren, and has helped shape the UK’s live music landscape. Joe is passionate about creating inclusive, exciting live experiences and building strong relationships with promoters, agents, and artists. He plays an active role in supporting the wider industry and championing innovation in venue programming.
